Hi Milan, well... it's been quite a while since this happened... IIRC, after trying to do a couple of things to revive my passwd, group and shadow files, I decided it would take a lot less time to reinstall the machine... (I had a 'dpkg --get-selections' saved so it wasn't too much of a problem, since home directories are in a server).
This is my work machine and after that I upgraded to jaunty. I'm working outside of the office for a couple of days, I can try next week to back up these files and see if I can reproduce what I did. It was probably the first time I used users-admin in that machine since I'm quite an old guy and I usually handle passwd and group files by direct editing or using adduser/addgroup at most. -- users-admin erased the content of /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357420 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
