Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-6-generic

Hi all,
booting with 2.6.20-6 stalls with this error messages in an endless loop:

hde: dma_timer_expiry dma status == 0x24
hde: DMA interrupt recovery
hde: lost interrupt

hde: dma_timer_expiry dma status == 0x24
hde: DMA interrupt recovery
hde: lost interrupt

...

I have not been able to boot any 2.6.20 kernel, but i do not know, if
it was actually due to the same error.

I have no problem with 2.6.19-7 and never had any problemes with
any of the older ubuntu releases.

It seems to me, hde is supposed to be my boot device, but usually its
/dev/sda?

I have a 3 year old intel 875P chipset and use SATA harddrives.

Unfortunately, because of this bug it seems, the kernel cannot
access the disc further, i did not found this error in my /var/log/messages.

Kind regards
Markus
