With the latest version in Karmic, all three buttons are enabled when appropriate. Cancel is only disabled while KPackagekit is doing un- cancelable changes such as dpkg runs. (Committing changes at the end of updates/package installs)
The main thing here seems to be that there isn't a details feature, and the details feature in the latest KPackageKit is still quite lacking. I will change the bug to reflect this. ** Changed in: kpackagekit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Summary changed: - Kpackagekit has "Details", "Hide", and "Cancel" buttons disabled. + Implement a useful "Details" feature ** Description changed: - Binary package hint: kpackagekit + As of KPackageKit 0.4.2, the "details" button encountered while updating + or installing packages only exposes a useless back-and-forth progress + bar. - Kubuntu 9.04 - kpackagekit 0.4-0ubuntu1 - Kpackagekit has "Details", "Hide", and "Cancel" buttons disabled. + In other package manager, the dpkg output is.. er... outputed in a + console. Ideally this would be unhidden when the details button is + pressed. -- Implement a useful "Details" feature https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342788 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kpackagekit in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
