Public bug reported:

In /lib/lb/init-functions, function log_use_fancy_output (), this line:

    if [ -t 1 ] && [ "x$TERM" != "" ] && [ "x$TERM" != "xdumb" ] && [ -x
$TPUT ] && [ -x $EXPR ] && $TPUT hpa 60 >/dev/null 2>&1 && $TPUT setaf 1
>/dev/null 2>&1; then

has a bug in this check:
    [ "x$TERM" != "" ]

That, I guess, was supposed to read
    [ "x$TERM" != "x" ]

to check if $TERM is not empty.

** Affects: lsb (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
