Public bug reported: When trying to use live environment on the Kubuntu Herd 3 desktop with a Dell Inspiron 5100, the X server does not start. The boot is incredibly slow, bails out to a text console after a few minutes and gets stuck after a status message about fsck. There is no error message indicating anything has gone wrong in the console.
Specs of the machine are a 2.6 GHz Pentium 4-M, 768 MB of RAM, an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics card, and a 24x CD-RW drive.
