Public bug reported: I am running Kernel 2.6.28-15-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 29 08:53:35 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux. After I received an update to the kernel above, a reboot was required. Once I rebooted, I am no longer able to browse my network. I also cannot access my samba shares that are on the ubuntu machine. Samba is running fine. I re-installed network manager, but that did not fix the problem.
Also, I have a shortcut on my desktop that points to a subfolder in my home directory. When I first logon the shortcut/link is there, when I click on on Places --> Network a window popup for a split second and goes away, my shortcut on my desktop disappears. Tailing the log while I click on Places --> Network, I get the following error: kernel: [ 1711.853641] nautilus[4513]: segfault at 36 ip 00007f994cfa82f4 sp 00007fff58422f90 error 4 in libglib-2.0.so.0.2104.0[7f994cf4f000+c5000] ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=8cb82fa4-0aae-4274-82e4-4d6079072421 MachineType: Dell Inc Dimension C521 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: linux-image-2.6.28-15-generic 2.6.28-15.48 ProcCmdLine: root=UUID=7347d6c6-0504-4bcb-802f-1083306d6300 ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.28-15.48-generic SourcePackage: linux ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug -- Cannot browse network - 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415666 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
