Minor hiccup, only one computer that I can use, this one, an IBM Thinkpad, and I applied a BIOS Setup password that I forgot about, hence I can only boot from the HDD, and cannot boot from a CD or DVD to reinstall. I have upgraded from 7.4(?) or similarly early, and had to go for the moved archived repositories, on dialup, and I suspect that the bandwidth into the modems is limited to encourage moving to ADSL, which is not supported by the Telstra equipment that I am connected to. In other words, things are glacially slow. I am hoping to sort out a desktop machine as my main machine, with this as a mobile, and secondary, computer, and to install a later release then. I will endeavour to enquire, and provide further reports, as I can. I have had to print from Evolution, so did to file as a PDF. I now need to study how PDF's are put together, I have just made a significant start on learning PostScript, but PDF's are a bit different. I have found the comments about the DSC (Document Structuring Conventions) to be interesting, see this page, and follow the link to "Gripes". http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/gsview/rjl.htm I notice that the Evolution output used reals for the bounding box, rather than integers. It would seem that there may be a number of issues to clean up in the printing from Evolution. I have done a little C coding, and I can try to grab the source at some point. I hope to find something, and I will certainly be back to you. I am also going to research what is valid for a PDF. I am also trying to assist in the ongoing care of my father, who is in an aged care facility, along with keeping the local authorities satisfied that I am making sufficient efforts at seeking employment that they will pay me unemployment benefits. This can include suitable training, and I am going to try claiming my self tuition in programming, PostScript, Perl, and refresher on C. I will do approved courses, if they are available, but self train if not. I am living out of a rural town in Victoria in Australia, and travel for training may require in excess of an hour of driving, each way, along with significant fuel costs. It is in the interests of everyone to not have to travel quite so much, but I am not certain that I can persuade them. > ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) > Importance: Undecided => Low > > ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > > ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) > Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Regards, Mark Trickett -- Insists on printing to US paper size instead of A4, despite repeated setting to A4, looks to also involve Evince https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/414737 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
