Bruce, The fix is in Jaunty's 2.6.28-11.39 Linux kernel. If you have all the updates, then you should have the fix. To double-check, "uname -r" should report something newer than 2.6.28-11-generic. So if you still have problems, then you're being affected by a separate issue and should file a new bug.
Martin, The fix put into Jaunty was from upstream so it's already included in Karmic's kernel by now. This means there's at least one more (separate) problem to be fixed before your dongle will work.
