Steve Dodier: the crash isn't happening anymore with the new file. Now
here's what's interesting. I tried the regular xfce4-volumed one more
time before I did all this, and sure enough it segfaulted. Now after I
merely did "make" and ran the new ./src/xfce4-volumed, the other
xfce4-volumed was fixed too. I never copied the fixed one into my
system. Let me know if you want any other info.

The only thing I did was "sudo apt-get build-dep xfce4-volumed" but I
don't think that caused the old one to start working.

After reboot, it still works flawlessly. Looks like the new file
updated some permanent setting. It did say "New card :
CMediaCMI8768Alsamixer ".
