Okay, after a systematic test I concluded the following: I tested the following situations: 1 The boot option "splash" is disabled. 2 The GDM daemon is disabled (using the rcconf utility.) 3 Executing "setfont Uni1-VGA16" in a virtual terminal. 4 Executing "setfont Lat15-VGA16" in a virtual terminal.
The results are as follows: 1 Fixed. 2 Fixed. 3 Fixed - however: the now bright characters are gibberish. (Appear to be non Latin or Latin with diacritics.) 4 Does not fix the problem. Note: Executing the "reset" command after running "setfont Uni1-VGA16" in a virtual terminal (#3) does fix the problem properly. Hope this clears it up for you. -- Ubuntu boot screen causes virtual terminal display problems. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392959 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
