Binary package hint: phonon-backend-xine
I have got workable xine config (and ~/.asoundrc) - xine-ui (as well as
gxine) plays sound files. Nevertheless I wasn't able to make Phonon xine
backend to work - KDE system setting - Multimedia test doesn't work (as
well as Amarok2).
The only place I have found to play with is ~/.config/kde.org/Phonon-
Xine.xine.conf - all attempts to get a sound were not lucky.
Up to date Kubuntu Karmic is in use. ALSA hdsp driver is used for RME
HDSP 9632 card. Other sound apps work as expected (say, aplay, mpd,
JACK, ...).
