Binary package hint: pulseaudio
On Karmic, with the test4 release of PulseAudio 0.9.16.
Ekiga cannot open sound devices for recording sound, this is the case
with both the microphone of my USB webcam and the internal one.
The same does not happen for audio output -- ekiga plays back sound just
fine.
