Answers: 1. the minimum Step to encounter the problem: Install KUbuntu 2. I expected the Extra keys (Audio Up/Down, next/previous song etc. to work). 3. The actual behavior isn't existent. All extra keys on that keyboard are not recognized under X. xev doesn't return anything on the CLI and under X. So any extra configuration I can do won't bring anything as long as the kernel does not return any event on key-press.
Note that on the MX700 Combo, all extra keys are ignored by the kernel.
