I don't know whether or not the "spyware" claims are justified -- I
suspect they aren't.  And I don't know how this compares to what the
Mozilla people do with Google.  Maybe it's similar.

But it seems clear to me that we have Canonical people on one side of
this, and users on the other.  If a strong majority of users don't want
this, should it remain in Ubuntu?  Even if Canonical people think that
the users are wrong?

I think that's the main question here, and the way this goes down will
tell us something pretty fundamental about the nature of the Ubuntu
project.
