Today I accepted the Ubuntu Firefox updates. Firefox became unstable, for instance google.com doesn't resolve and gives this message:
ASSERT: *** Search: _installLocation: engine has no file! Stack Trace: 0:ENSURE_WARN(false,_installLocation: engine has no file!,2147500037) 1:() 2:() 3:() 4:epsGetAttr([object Object],alias) 5:() 6:SRCH_SVC_getEngineByAlias(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/+filebug) 7:getEngineByAlias(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/+filebug) 8:getShortcutOrURI(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/+filebug,[object Object]) 9:canonizeUrl([object KeyboardEvent],[object Object]) 10:handleURLBarCommand([object KeyboardEvent]) 11:anonymous(textentered,[object KeyboardEvent]) 12:fireEvent(textentered,[object KeyboardEvent]) 13:onTextEntered() 14:handleEnter(false) 15:onKeyPress([object KeyboardEvent]) 16:onxblkeypress([object KeyboardEvent]) I've looked at /usr/me/.mozilla/pluginreg.dat and only one line mentions flash: cat pluginreg.dat | grep flash /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/libflashplayer.so:$ Some sites resolve, like mail.yahoo.com. Being a novice I lack the background to determine whether this is the same problem mentioned above since adobe isn't mentioned or involved and I've not manually loaded anything other than through Synaptic. I'm with Reuben Firmin, Ubuntu should not break stuph when update notices are accepted. Any workaround in my case? --Albert ** Attachment added: "pluginreg.dat" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/29946271/pluginreg.dat -- update-manager seems to lose flash 9 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153133 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
