Confirmed! I'm had troubles with the history plugin, too. The plugin was loaded and checked but it didn't log messages. I followed the instructions above and the plugin started to work. Before I disabled and reenabled the plugin the ~/.kde/share/apps/kopete/logs was missing and no conversations were logged.
