I finally just dropped back to 6.06 and I have not had any problems.
The PC is an Intel board Celeron
and I don't believe the chipset is compatable with the fglrx driver in
6.10, Edgy Eft. Every time I allowed
the kernal updates to be installed I lost the video. Not fully
understanding how to load or install drivers
I took the path of least resistance. I am learning Linux, but I am old
and the brain is very slow these
days.

One of these days I will get the bug to hack some more and I will update
to 6.10 and try to figure out the
video driver issue on this machine.

Thanks for the reply.
