Jim, thanks for asking. I just checked with the laptop and Jaunty... Sadly, no change from what I described initially. And yes, the same device works on my desktop, running Intrepid. Really strange. Just for the record: The device does not show up in 'lsusb'. If you have any idea what else to check, please let me know. Thanks!
