Public bug reported:

Trying to learn how to use the command resulted many invalid arguments.
However, the sources.lst file was edited and these invalid added ! In
the next apt-get update you face many errors.

What is supposed to be that if the argument was invalid and/or there is
no ppa or team with the given name, no entry must be added to the
sources.lst

If the the argument was correct but there is a problem with adding the
gpg key, the entry will be added and a message will be in output asking
the user to add the gpg manually.
