I think this has to do with the axis mapping of the unit. Mine makes odd sounds before the scan, and then scans only a small area.
In the bottom left of the xsane control window, it says 10.30 cm x 7.62cm. I can go into advanced options and see that there are zeroes in the top two fields (top left x, top left y) and the 10.30cm is bottom right x, while 7.62cm is bottom right y) I'm thinking the support for these is buggy, in that in our cases perhaps - the mapping for the scan lamp itself is incorrect and it forces the lamp to try to move against it's stops or something similar. Quite odd nonetheless. I may try trial and error to see what I can do with adjusting the geometry, but I'm a little nervous about and will be ready to pull out the usb cable. -- My scanner, a Canon CanoScan LIDE 20, makes grinding noise https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/40682 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
