Hey all, Short request: could somebody, who is justified to do that, change the importance of this bug to at least medium or high. I think the bug is important enough to get some attention: people could easily lose their data this way! and accidentally clearing partition tables of disks is to my opinion a serious bug in a operating system... (you can get it your data back by writing your partition table back to the card using dd, as described in the workaround above, but then you need at least to have a copy of the partition table, and this is not really something that an inexperienced user can do).
/home on your sd card sounds maybe stranger than it actually is. Many netbooks are equipped with flash disks that have incredibly long write access times (up to a second!). Having your firefox cache on such a disks makes browsing a hell, making SD cards interesting alternatives for your /home, as long as it does not corrupt the partition table though.... -- SD Card containing /home corrupted on resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342096 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
