Public bug reported:
pptp vpn addin (v 1.7.2-1) to NetworkManager Applet 0.7.0.100 is not
working as expected or there is a secret trick to get it working :-)
I am already running the pptp-vpn connection from both OSX and Windows
XP/7 so I am sure the windows ISA server is working.
After connecting by lan/wireless or 3g, the PPTP addin is not able to
bring up the tunnel. I have tried most of the recommended settings found
in the forums; incl refuse eap and so on.
The gateway is setup to point to the dns name available on the internet via the
connection available.
user name and nt domain as in windows/osx vpn.
authentication all ticked off / tried with only mschap v2 also.
allow bsd data, deflate data and tcp header compression - also tried different
combinations.
security set to all available(default).
