I have the same problem on Ubuntu Release 9.04 Jaunty. I am rsyncing a usb to the host computer. I am not writing anything to the usb drive only reading it. rsync completes, but then when I unmount the device I get the error below. I have waited 15, 30, and 60 seconds after rsync completes to remove the device, but still get the error. Unmounting the device after copying all the contents gives the error, but when the device is removed, reinserted, rsync'ed, and unmounted the second time there is no error. But nothing was copied from the device on the second rsync.
