Thanks for your help but didn't help to resolve anything :

I did the 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg' thing but I end up having
some kind of virtual desktop in 1280x1024 (the screen slides when the
mouse touches the borders).

I tryed to do 'sudo ddcprobe | grep monitorrange'
wich gave me monitorrange: 30-76, 50-75
I put those values in my xorg.conf and add 
Modes           "1600x1200" "1280x1024" "1280x960" "1024x768" "800x600" 
"640x480"
But I end up having the same virtual sliding behavior as above, 1280x1024 top.


The problem on screen flashing when going into a console and coming back to X 
still stands.
