Sebastien, Initially, I thought karmic was another video player but after doing some searching, I see it is ubuntu 9.10. So now I believe you are asking me to try DVD playback on a 9.10 installation, correct? Would running from a live CD tell us what we want to know? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am a newbie and this is my first foray into Linux.
