Same problem here, up to date intrepid 64-bit, wacom intuos 3 using the new HAL method that incorporates pressure support.
Here is a quick workaround that may work (I haven't tried it) sudo nano /etc/default/acpi-support find the line that says MODULES="" and add wacom between the two quotation marks.
