Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

In Nautilus with icon view, when you open a folder with lots of files,
i.e. photos, and scroll down while thumbnails for photos are being
created, the view will constantly scroll up, because thumbnails take
more space than ordinary system icons (especially thumbnails for
vertical pictures) and push icons below downwards.

This behavior makes it impossible to navigate through the folder before
all thumbnails have been created, which can be extremely annoying with
hundreds of pictures in one place. Things like selecting a couple of
files or finding the right one to click on it become very hard to do.

BTW I initially filed this bug at "100 papercuts" project, but it was
too hard to fix for them.

Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 9.04
package version: nautilus 2.26.2-0ubuntu2
What I expected: files to be shown at the same place, at the same level of
height
What happened: files moved up or down during thumbnails creation

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
