Public bug reported:

Wireless card: Atheros on ACER5102 wlmi

When I click on the admin > network settings icon, about 1-2 minutes
pass without anything to display. Sometimes the user is in hurry so
clicks again and again. After a few minutes there is one window for
every click. What's wrong: The delay (without any notification), and the
fact that the user can have multiple administrative interfaces for the
same thing, at the same time.

Also: if the wireless network requires a network key, and the user
provides wrong key, the systems appears to be connected anyway.
Especially if the IP is not DHCP-provided, then there is no way to tell
that the network is not there, apart from a ping or a browse.

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
