Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
Using FF 3.0.11 under Ubuntu 8.10, trying to play a flash video freezes Firefox -- all windows become unresponsive, and stop refreshing. Note that FF3.5 hasn't gotten into the Ubuntu repositories yet, apparently with some reason (besides the security bug, a lot of plugins don't support it.)
