FWIW: It's not the primary task of a distro to add features to
applications.  That the primary task up the wlassistant
developers.  Only IMHO, no flameware please ;)

Wireless is unfortunately not the strong  side of the
linux kernel :(

Note:
There one common pitfall with knetworkmanager:
