probable explanation: This causes vlc to allocate an xv port, which is then unavailable to GS > then start the GS streamer, and the GS streamer works !! with picture, > and audio both with most formats (mp4, flv etc) GS fails then to open an xv port, and falls back to X11 video. > therefore it means that the VLC player is loading something, which then > is utilized by the GStreamer player? no, I rather assumes it blocks access to "something". you can try if starting vlc with 'vlc -V x11' to check if I'm right. This should also be configurable in totem somewhere, but I don't know how the video output module can be selected. If I am right, this is most certainly a problem in your videodriver. -- Gruesse/greetings, Reinhard Tartler, KeyID 945348A4 -- DVD playing is not working correctly with totem-gstreamer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/41335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
