on a dell latitude d620 just tested mainline kernel - linux-image-2.6.28-020628-generic_2.6.28-020628_i386 using the same steps as my previous entry. In less than 10 minutes using the program - stress the temperature jumped from 47 to 87 celsius I shut down the stress process before the lap top overheated.
