Last comment, hopefully: The soundsystem installed with kernel
2.6.28-13-generic is the alsa-driver 1.0.20, while the older kernel still uses
an older alsa-version, which as far as I know didn't break the usb-devices. So
maybe the developers of alsa have to work together with those colleagues who
work on the kernel, who try to find a solution to the errors with usb-devices
(error -110) etc. That one might be regression anyway, the last time I had this
kind of problem with usb-devices was with gutsy or hardy.
Thank you everybody for looking into this. In a german speaking ubuntu-forum I
found many more who also experience these problems with the new kernel.
