Public bug reported: Ubuntu 9.04, Jaunty
Never experienced this before on any previous Ubuntu release and I have been using Webstart on Ubuntu for a long time. The error message (translated back from Hungarian): It was not possible to execute the child process ("/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.13/jre/bin/javaws") No such file or folder. It looks like that Sun Java is installed in a folder called "java-6-sun-1.6.0.13" instead of the traditional "java-6-sun". When a newer version is installed, an other directory will be created for Java and all of the Webstart desktop Icons stop working. Manually correcting the icons to "/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.14/" works. Extremely annoying, has never happened on Windows (earlier Ubuntus neither). ** Affects: sun-java6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Java Webstart icons stop working after Sun Java is updated to a new version https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/395087 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
