Correct, I have not used emacs before, but I am a bug triager. I do not believe sarcasm gets problems solved. Considering this bug is a year and a half old, and no-one has helped, maybe it would be better if you logged onto IRC at irc.freenode.net at the #ubuntu-bugs channel and see if there is anyone there who is more apt at using/debugging emacs.
