I'll just add a big "me too" on this one. It's a longstanding and annoying bug in kpdf that it doesn't pay any attention to the size of the output paper when printing, so there's no way to expand a pdf that has too small a size or prevent cropping of an a4 pdf printed on letter paper. I just use evince for printing (but not for viewing, since it's such a memory hog, and doesn't have a "watch file" mode last time I checked... or a way to show nothing but the file I'm viewing).
