Is there a current solution for someone who has permanently removed pulseaudio, other than regressing alsa-utils? I have a system where I will never install pulseaudio. I need speech recognition, and my machine uses audio only to access Dragon NaturallySpeaking through wine. Pasuspender and padsp cause problems and seem to add latency.
