HI there Bryce, thank you for your driver update, I took the precaution of uninstalling all the Previous drivers from Nvidia before installing yours - after it compiled its modules and successfully Installed I rebooted and was able to configure both desktop effects and a resolution of 1280x1024.
IN the Nvidia Control panel it acknowledges native settings to be 1920x1200 but says the frontend is 1280x1024 which is the maximum resolution I can attain. Now the default distro drivers will give 1920x1200 easily but doesn't allow desktop effects.
