@To all those who are recommending upgrade to 2.5.7. Pidgin 2.5.7 is not going to be added in repository for existing stable versions of Ubuntu. The fix for the protocol change will like be backported to the versions in repositories. (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates) Please don't add any comments which recommend upgrading to 2.5.7.
