** Description changed: Binary package hint: debian-installer After installing Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Alpha 2 from the Alternative CD, I noticed that my FUSA said "Users" instead of my full name. I figured it was a bug and shrugged it off. I then tried to install PackageKit seeing that gnome-app-install was missing from my Applications menu. I received a warning that "sshields is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported." From my Linode experience, I knew that my sudoers file wasn't configured. I rebooted, dropped into the root shell, and added "%admin ALL=(ALL) ALL" to /etc/sudoers. Then I added my user to the admin group by "adduser sshields admin". Rebooted and it worked. The FUSA bug disappeared and - gnome-app-install was under my Applications menu. + gnome-app-install was under my Applications menu. I also noticed that + none of the default "User Privileges" were set under User Settings > + Properties.
