The stop button should not be removed without replacement. I like the way evolution displays its current actions and provides a button to abort each of them - in the status bar. That way, no (mostly greyed out) stop button is required in the toolbar, and current actions can be aborted right where they are being displayed. How difficult would it be to implement this in nautilus?
