Definitely i don't think it is a gaim-libnotify stuff.

The source code is right:

1) If you click on action ('Show' button), it calls present(), which
calls gtk_window_present().

2) If you click on anywhere on notification, it closes itself.

I guess you belong to the first option above.

In that case, i've experienced problems like that, in a lot of
applications. That's why i asked if it is a problem with gtk or
metacity.
