Attached is a better backtrace using the firefox-dbgsym package as suggested on: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash
Please note that this backtrace has been generated using the 2.0.0 version of firefox since there is not -dbgsym version of the 2.0.0.1 package yet. Also note that the backtrace is a bit different and that the program has not deadlocked completely, but at least one thread is polling for something, while the others are either deadlocked or waiting for the polling thread to succeed and signal them. Hope this backtrace helps you tracking down the problem. ** Attachment added: "Backtrace generated using the firefox-dbgsym package and the firefox_2.0+0dfsg-0ubuntu3_i386.deb" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5853023/gdb-firefox.txt -- firefox deadlock / freeze / hang on startup https://launchpad.net/bugs/81418 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
