That's no good that your windows partition got munged. Not sure if
you'd be able, or willing, to reproduce to try to report a bug against
the installer? In the end, I'm glad to hear Ubuntu is running on the
system. It seems the kernel panic is no longer present so I'm going to
close this bug against the kernel. Thanks.
