The code in question has been replaced by completely different code
which uses libhal now instead of libsysfs. I suggest closing the bug as
obsoleted by libchipcard 4.2.8-1ubuntu1.

As far I can see this bug can only occur under very rare conditions. So
I'm unable to reproduce it. However, if really needed the appended patch
might be used to fix the occurred segmentation fault. It skips a code
block if an error occurred when fetching sysfs device attributes.
