Sorry for the extended delay in responding. I have been divorced from my e-mail for a while. I did the upgrade by selecting the option from a popup in 5.10. My system was 100% disabled by this. I later attempted to install 6.10 from CD, but that failed. 6.10 failed on my son's system as well, with the same problem. Started over with 5.10 and stayed there.
