Thanks for the reply! I've actually gone ahead and rebuilt from mplayer's svn, and I think the issue here is that dtscd has rolled into dts/hwdts.. Just have to specify -channels 6 for a multichannel track.. Gonna try it with ps3mediaserver tomorrow..
Just verified that -channels works fine with stock Jaunty too: $ /usr/bin/mplayer -channels 6 -vc null -vo null "Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV [DTS] - 04 - Stairway To Heaven [DTS].dts" MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.3.3 (C) 2000-2007 MPlayer Team CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (Family: 6, Model: 26, Stepping: 4) CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1 Compiled with runtime CPU detection. mplayer: could not connect to socket mplayer: No such file or directory Failed to open LIRC support.
