This bug has become very confused. The original bug was about black
screens, then white screens, then hangs with usplash and some at black
with a cursor. Therefore just saying 'confirming here' carries little
information for someone reading the bug.
Could those of you still seeing this bug on Jaunty please give a
description of the sequence you see when shutting down. Also could you
include the make and model of the machine. Could you also try shutting
down from VT1, switching with Ctrl-Alt-F1, logging in and then sudo
shutdown -h how. Also could you try a second shutdown with usplash
disabled for comparison. Please report back here, and do try and
include as much information as possible.
