Wait... so why does Ubuntu specifically have named entries such as:

GIMP Image Editor
Firefox Web Browser
Pidgin Internet Messenger
Transmission BitTorrent Client
Brasero Disc Burner

These are the defaults, yet they are named...  Are you implying that if
they are not the GNOME defaults then they need names?
