OK, this is what I did:

1.) I disabled the following three settings of nvidia-settings and wrote the 
result into a new xorg.conf.
X Server XVideo Settings -> Video Texture Adaptor -> Sync to VBlank
X Server XVideo Settings -> Video Blitter Adaptor -> Sync to VBlank
OpenGL Settings -> Performance -> Sync to VBlank

2.) I added the following two options to the Device Section and saved the 
modified file into xorg.conf.
Option         "NoLogo" "True"
Option         "UseEvents" "True"

3.) I disabled the Use OpenGL vsync option in mythtv.

I will give feedback soon.
